Zero Spacing Distributions for Differenced L-Functions

چکیده
The paper studies the local zero spacings of deformations of the Riemann ξ-function under certain averaging and differencing operations. For real h we consider the entire functions Ah(s) := 1 2 (ξ(s + h) + ξ(s− h)) and Bh(s) = 1 2i (ξ(s+ h)− ξ(s− h)) . For |h| ≥ 1 2 the zeros of Ah(s) and Bh(s) all lie on the critical line R(s) = 1 2 and are simple zeros. The number of zeros of these functions to height T has asymptotically the same density as the Riemann zeta zeros. For fixed |h| ≥ 12 the distribution of normalized zero spacings of these functions up to height T converge as T → ∞ to a limiting distribution, which consists of equal spacings of size 1. That is, these zeros are asymptotically regularly spaced. Assuming the Riemann hypothesis, the same properties hold for all nonzero h. In particular, these averaging and differencing operations destroy the (conjectured) GUE distribution of the zeros of the ξ-function, which should hold at h = 0. Analogous results hold for all completed Dirichlet L-functions ξχ(s) having χ a primitive character.

Atmosphere Decomposition for VRS-Based Network-RTK System
The atmospheric delay is the main error source for medium-range relative GPS positioning, and therefore is the main challenge for Network-RTK systems. The double-differenced tropospheric and ionospheric delays are decomposed from the double differenced ionosphere-free and geometry-free combinations. However, for a Network-RTK system, the atmospheric delays are required to be expressed as single...
متن کاملCorrelation Functions, Cluster Functions, and Spacing Distributions for Random Matrices
The usual formulas for the correlation functions in orthogonal and symplectic matrix models express them as quaternion determinants. From this representation one can deduce formulas for spacing probabilities in terms of Fredholm determinants of matrix-valued kernels. The derivations of the various formulas are somewhat involved. In this article we present a direct approach which leads immediate...
متن کاملINTERSECTION OF ESSENTIAL IDEALS IN THE RING OF REAL-VALUED CONTINUOUS FUNCTIONS ON A FRAME
A frame $L$ is called {it coz-dense} if $Sigma_{coz(alpha)}=emptyset$ implies $alpha=mathbf 0$. Let $mathcal RL$ be the ring of real-valued continuous functions on a coz-dense and completely regular frame $L$. We present a description of the socle of the ring $mathcal RL$ based on minimal ideals of $mathcal RL$ and zero sets in pointfree topology. We show that socle of $mathcal RL$ is an essent...
متن کاملZero sets in pointfree topology and strongly $z$-ideals
In this paper a particular case of z-ideals, called strongly z-ideal, is defined by introducing zero sets in pointfree topology. We study strongly z-ideals, their relation with z-ideals and the role of spatiality in this relation. For strongly z-ideals, we analyze prime ideals using the concept of zero sets. Moreover, it is proven that the intersection of all zero sets of a prime ideal of C(L),...
متن کاملThe Spacing Distributions between Zeros of Zeta Functions
0. Introduction In a remarkable numerical experiment, Odlyzko Od] has found that the local spacing distribution between the zeros of the Riemann Zeta function is modelled by the eigen-value distributions coming from random matrix theory. In particular by the \GUE" (Gaussian Unitary Ensemble) model Gau]. His experiment was inspired by the paper of Montgomery Mon] who determined the pair correlat...
